How to choose alpine skis?
Did you know that there are several types of alpine skis? These vary according to the type of snow and the use you want to make of it. At Sports Experts, we offer a variety of alpine skis for these various occasions and for different abilities, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, advanced or expert rider.

Carving skis
Carving alpine skis are great for turning and carving on groomed runs and packed snow. These skis vary according to your level of experience and offer various characteristics. For example, skis with a smaller width at the waist will be useful for racing and speed, the softer tip offers greater versatility while a stiff tail allows for more aggressive edge grip.

All-mountain skis
Do you like to ski in all types of terrain? As the name suggests, all mountain skis and freeride skis are the right choice. These skis will be your allies on the slopes, moguls, glade, off-trail and fresh snow. They’ll allow you to make turns on hard snow and send powder to your friends behind you, and even follow you to the snowpark. The versatility of this type of ski is well appreciated by those who want to progress at their own pace all over the mountain.

Freestyle skis
These skis are more particularly used for doing tricks in the snowpark. They are often equipped with a twin tip, which allows the intermediate to advanced skiers to ski backwards so that slides and jumps on the jibs can be achieved more smoothly. These skis are normally also designed to withstand the impact of snow or metal structures such as boxes and rails, as well as for "Big Air" jumps or on half-pipe terrain.

Powder skis
Designed for advanced-level skiers who spend long days on the hill and for lovers of fresh snow after a storm, powder and alpine touring skis are the go-to choice. Are you planning a ski trip to the Rockies, the Alps, or other snow-heavy terrain? Choose from our selection of powder skis. With a more progressive tip, a wider waist and sometimes with a double rocker, these skis allow increased flotation and manoeuvrability.

Junior skis
Junior skis Alpine skiing is a fun activity that families enjoy on weekends and during winter vacations. This sport is ideal for your child, as it will allow them to develop new motor skills, appreciate nature, make new friends during their lessons and adopt a healthy and active lifestyle. Let your child enjoy the benefits of alpine skiing with junior alpine skis and equipment.
